In the past, patients looked to traditional dentures to replace an entire arch of teeth. While dentures can provide a natural-looking smile in some cases, they do not completely restore chewing function. Long term denture use can ultimately lead to bone loss, a weakening of the jaw, and a degradation in oral health, not to mention the usual drawbacks of traditional denture treatment.
With full arch implant treatment, we can expect to restore 100% of your natural chewing function. Also full arch implant restorations are completely fixed to the dental implants so you don’t have to worry about lack of retention, stability, or support as with the traditional dentures. . Getting Started on full arch dental implant treatment
At your first appointment, we’ll conduct a thorough exam including an x-ray, intraoral scan for a digital 3D impression, CT scans, and a full review of your medical history.
You will then meet with Dr. Jang to go over your diagnosis and together discuss if full arch implants are a good option for you.
Once a course of treatment is selected, we’ll present a timeline and set expectations for results.
Once any necessary bone grafting is completed to replace any bone loss in your mouth, we’ll place 4 to 6 dental implants in your jawbone and allow them to heal. Oftentimes, we provide immediate provisional implant restorations right away so that you have a full set of teeth in one visit (Often referred as smile in a day).
Once healed, we’ll place your final ceramic restoration to complete your smile.
Throughout the process, there will be plenty of time to have your concerns and questions answered.
